We are all endowed with a daily stipend of energy, a truly communist sentiment. This resource is indeed analogous to money.

Some of us capitalise on our energy, and some of us wake up feeling destitute, but we all have energy potential, a vault full of this glowing resource.

In sticking with the analogy of money, think about how the people around you spend their energy.

We work within frameworks designed by others to most efficiently harness our energy.

We spend time engaging in meaningless get togethers to ‘show our face’, or to play along with whatever social game we think we are playing.

We spend our time mindlessly consuming in an effort to escape ourselves.

We invest in the same things as other people, the same fashion, the same food and drink, and the same celebrations, exhausting ourselves in an effort for union but seemingly at any cost.

How can one have a true sense of union unless they are being true to themselves?

We have a choice where to spend this and when to save it, but many of us give it away completely unaware that it is diminishing our life force.

We spend it in frivolous social situations, mindlessly consuming entertainment, to our demanding bosses, co-workers, family and friends. Frameworks and social networks based on truly rewarding structures, which have become dogmatic places of comfort, however trendy they may appear.

For those with an awareness of the body and its energy levels, it takes gumption to listen at the risk of excluding oneself from these normative environments or situations.

To know when to conserve energy and when to spend lavishly is the easy part, but to navigate our social structures, etiquette and frameworks without seeming insular, rude, over the top or extreme is the challenge.

Entitlement

We live in a world where many people believe that their importance trumps yours, thus demand your energy, whether they are aware of it or not.

The reality is, that anybody that you spend your energy on is privileged, whether that is your boss, your spouse, or yourself.

Nobody is entitled to your energy, and you are not entitled to anybody else’s.

The more you learn to conserve your energy from meaningless pursuits, the more you will have to put towards things that matter.

When you are engaging in things you love, with people you love, you will receive boundless energy.

You know this to be true. Using coffee to keep one energetically lubricated is not always the answer.

Think about the energy you obtain from pursuing a passion, stimulating your mind, body and soul through your wordly and personal interactions.

We live in a world where many people believe they are the most important part of your life and thus demand your energy, whether they are aware of it or not.

That’s it! No secret method, just be and just do. Find a hobby, connect with people you love, create a grid of energy and you will soon realise what gives and what takes the energy. This is not a matter of being selfish, because you need energy in order to serve the world, so let the world serve you.
